While the George & Dragon has many fans, some visitors note the occasional wait during peak hours, particularly on weekends. Space can feel limited during busy dinner times, especially at the popular tables in the conservatory area. A few customers mentioned that certain menu items sometimes sell out quickly, particularly the specials, which can be disappointing for diners hoping to try something specific. Additionally, those looking for an upscale experience may find the casual setting not entirely fitting their preferences.
Our local pub for a number of years, always decent food and great atmosphere. Recently had new owners, whilst retaining the staff, but have recently introduced an additional specials menu which includes a Parmo Sharing Plate, choose 5 options from 7 for £28.00- WOW Fantastic and simply beat us, now got one each for lunch ! A great idea and really great value. We will be trying out the other deals and specials too.
Second visit in a couple of months. 10 of us went for Sunday lunch and it was excellent. The service was pretty quick for the size of the group and we were all really pleased, between us we had most of the menu and everything was fantastic - especially the vegetables. The kids portions were a good size and everything was fairly priced. We had delicious desserts too. Definitely be back.
Absolutely STUNNING afternoon tea for a special birthday. Gorgeous good, lovely atmosphere. Staff so friendly and couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome. Highly recommend. 10*
Found us a table even though we had not booked and they were clearly very busy sat us in the conservatory part which was lovely ,light and enough space to not feel cramped. The dinner itself was delicious, roast beef cooked just right not over cooked and enjoyed the cauliflower cheese and the red cabbage something different to your usual veg.
Best Sunday lunch around, located in a beautiful village which we have the privilege of living in. Grill night on a Thursday is fantastic too.
